MY DAY AT MYMCA CHILDCARE & DEVE'MENT CENTRE.
I met Dinah, my attachment friend at Tamp MRT control station at 815am being the typical kiasu-kias when our attachment actually starts at 9am coz' apparently Simei is like damn far from Tamp on every Thurs. HAHA. Our mentor gave us weird directions on how to make our way to the centre like turn left and theres a coffeeshop and then just walk straight and there'll be another coffeeshop? But since i'm alr used to lounging(HAHA) at Steph's house, it wasn't much of a problem coz' her blk's right next to the centre.
The moment i reached there, the kids were like "HELLLLOOOOOOOOOO!" *waves enthusiastically* The teacher hadn't even introduced me yet which she eventually didn't! -.- Dinah got the Nursery class whereas i got K2 LOVE. While they were having breakfast, i was sitting down next to them and writing observations, like literally "OBSERVATIONS" in a 'Cloud' bubble. And then Remus, the naughtiest boy in class asked me, "Is that your name?" and the rest of the class surrounded me. All of them had this funny expression on, like in their head they were thinking "HOW THE HELL DO I PRONOUNCE THIS NAME?" HAHA, funny shid.
So i was like, "Nooooo, that's not my name. Hahaha."
They asked again, "Then what's your name?" (One thing about this kids, they are SUPA inquisitive!)
"My name's Syafiqah."
Them: "Oh okay!" (Actually they said a lot of stupid names coz' they cldn't pronounce mine but HAHA too bad, i'm not gna put it here.)
A moment later...
"CHICHER KAVITAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" *looks at me with the biggest pair of eyes i've ever seen* In my head i was like "Siala, who sia teacher kavita" until i realised they were all looking at me. HAHAHAHAHA.
"My name is SYAAA-FEEEE-CARRRRR. And please do not call me teacher ok? Hahaha."
In unison: "SYAAAFEEECARRRRR".
A moment later...
"CHICHER KAVITAAAA~!" I was like surpressing my laughter la. And in the end i gave up and said, "Yes, what do you want?" HAHA.
And then, they were all sitting down waiting for Art Class to start. There was this Indian boy, he sat next to me and he suddenly leaned on my arm, "Teacher, so softttt. Like KU-SHI-ON..." I was just LMAO. And this Indian boy whose name is Mugeswaran attempted to tell me how to spell his long name. And what i mean by long is like Mugeswaran s/o (the dad's name). He wanted to teach me how to spell until his grandfather's name. HAHA. I was like omgosh. He's supa amiable. Then there was this girl, Jasmine. Idk how to explain the way she sat but it was like she wanted to hug me then and then. Hahaha. And then there was also this boy name Ahmad Ryan, the only malay boy in the class. He goes on and on telling me about his baby brother and what his favourite colour is and etc. They'r a lovable bunch, i must say.
After they'r done with their Mummy's Day cards, they had cheena lesson. Twas quite cool, they learnt about 'xia' and 'shang' like if the bu wa wa(doll) is xia(below) or shang(above) the table. I had the privilege to catch Ahmad Ryan, Muges & Remus hiding in the toilet to escape from cheena class. These kids are full of funny antics. After that they had Speech & Drama. Every Thurs it's an ECA day for them. Supposedly, they'r to go to HQ for swimming lessons, but due to the HFMD period, they suspended the programme for a month or so. Cool right? My kindergarten didnt have swimming lessons. Kids nowadays, supa lucky. Tskk.
So three instructors from Acts of Life came down. And they were all Eurasians? And then it suddenly hit me, i think thats when STEPH STARTED DEVELOPING A FETISH FOR ANGMOHS since she was previously from that childcare centre. HAHAHAHA. But there was this guy, Teacher James, quite cute i must say. And my attachment is on every Thurs. Hoho, you know what that means. HAHA.( Farhana, i still want CapBoy though, you can have Sally. :D)
At about 11.30plus we had a session with our mentor. Mrs Nai's really nice. (Notice the pun?) Hahaha. And she was quite shocked when i told her what my goals are. Ahh well.
And oh, did i tell you, in my class, there's this Autistic girl. She's really really soft spoken but she suffers from mild autism. She's adorable la but what i noticed is that she's left out in the class. No one talks to her that much and she plays alone. Nevertheless, she's always smiling, happy in her own world. The kids were playin with lego and blocks, one by one they came up to me with their so called "Inventions". The boys showed me their lightsabers, the girls showed me their BIG BIG house but Eleanor came to me and said "Teacher, smile. Click! Look at my camera, teacher." She's a really bright girl, i must say. Reminds me of Myra and how long since i've met her and Einn. :(
While i was packing my bag ready to head back to sch, Timothy was like "Are you our teacher? Will you be coming tmrw? Are you goin home?" I was sad to leave. They were alr emotionally attached and all pampered. I can't wait for next week!
There were other things that happened as well but i'm not gonna blog about it. When i told Sally about them, he laughed "until can get abs" kinda thing. So i better not. That was how i spent my three hours at the centre. :D
Love,
KAVITA. (HAHAHA) :P
